About the Conference

The 10th International Library and Information Science Society (I-LISS) 2026 marks a significant milestone in bringing together researchers, practitioners, educators, and students in Library and Information Science from around the world.

Under the theme “Thriving Through Transformation: Innovative, Digital, and AI-Driven Futures for Librarianship”, this conference explores how libraries and information professionals can harness the power of artificial intelligence, digital innovation, and transformative strategies to remain relevant and impactful in the evolving information landscape.

Call for Papers

Papers are invited on the above theme and sub-themes, based on research experience, theoretical models, or case studies from all, including LIS students, librarians, academicians, research scholars, and Information professionals.

We highly welcome submissions that address current and future critical issues in information science, library education, and professional practices. All submitted papers will be subjected to a double-blind peer review by the International Program Committee, and contributor(s) will be notified of the decision as per the conference time schedule.

Submission Guidelines & Formatting:
Length & Formatting: The full paper should be between 3,000 – 5,000 words, formatted with double-line spacing and follow the given e-proceeding template.
Required Details: The manuscript must include a short abstract, the full name(s) of the author(s), institutional affiliations, email address(es), and keywords.
Structure: The paper should comprehensively cover background information, objectives, materials and methods, a detailed summary of findings, and conclusions.

Review & Registration:
The decision of the editorial committee is final regarding the selection of the papers. Authors will be notified to pay the registration fee. Please note that without the registration fee, the paper will not be included in the conference proceedings. (Note: I-LISS life members are exempted from the registration fee).

Journal Publication Opportunity:
In addition to the e-conference proceedings, selected papers will be chosen by the editorial committee for publication in a reputed, Scopus and MyCite indexed journal.

Guidelines for Authors

  • The author must submit an extended abstract of about 900 – 1000 words. On acceptance, the authors are required to submit a full length paper.
  • The page limit for full papers is 6 – 8 pages in length, approximately 3,000 – 5,000 words (excluding references).
  • The papers should present new and original research results from empirical investigations, or from theory and model development.
  • The references shall be in accordance with APA style.
  • All submissions must include title, author names and affiliation, short abstract (no more than 200 words, one paragraph only), keywords, introduction, body of text, conclusion, acknowledgement (if necessary), and references.
  • All submissions must be in electronic form with MS Word format; no PDF file accepted.
  • Corresponding authors should sign the Copyright License Agreement and email the agreement in PDF format.
  • At least one of the authors must register for the conference before 6 August 2026 for the e-proceedings.
  • All accepted articles must be plagiarism-free and undergo checking with the Turnitin tool.

I-LISS 2026 is a physical conference held at Hotel UiTM, Shah Alam, Malaysia. The official language of the conference is English.

Submission details and the online submission system will be announced soon. Please check back for updates or follow our social media channels for the latest information.

The registration fee covers conference materials, lunches, tea breaks, and the conference dinner. Accommodation is not included in the registration fee.

Visa requirements depend on your nationality. Please check with the Malaysian Immigration Department or your nearest Malaysian embassy for the latest information. The organisers can provide an invitation letter upon request for visa application purposes.

Hotel UiTM is accessible by car, taxi, or ride-hailing services (Grab). From KLIA/KLIA2, you can take the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral and then a taxi or Grab to Shah Alam (approximately 30 minutes). Detailed transportation information will be provided closer to the event.
